My favorite season is officially in full swing. There’s something about this time of year that feels like a breath of fresh air, every single time. A season of new beginnings. The world starts to bloom again. I’m here for all the soft yellows, petal pinks and fresh greens.
Let’s dive into March highlights and take a peek at what I’m eyeing for April. Without further ado—hello, spring. Let’s get into it.
EXPERIENCE
• GARA Skincare Alchemy of the Senses: A Hydrosol Distillation Workshop
On the first weekend of spring, I ventured to Ojai for a hydrosol distillation workshop. I first discovered Emilee and Paul’s facial hydrosols last summer and instantly fell in love. Distillation is an ancient, intricate art that’s been around for thousands of years. We spent the day learning the process, exploring the garden, and ended with our very own Hummingbird Sage Hydrosol to take home.
I mist mine on my face 10+ times a day for a subtle refresh. In summer, I keep it in the fridge—it’s the best morning pick-me-up. We’re working on something special together that I can’t wait to share with you. Stay tuned.
• Resonant Healing Microneedling
I tried microneedling for the first time this month—spoiler: it didn’t hurt at all. Numbing cream definitely helps, but the whole session was seamless. It’s so important to go to someone licensed—a PA, dermatologist, or trained acupuncturist. In California, estheticians aren’t legally allowed to perform medical-grade microneedling. When it comes to my face, I don’t cut corners. These tiny micro-wounds boost collagen and help with scarring, sun damage, fine lines, and texture. I’m doing four sessions total for optimal results.
I met Haley last year at The Ranch in Malibu—her massage was incredible. Since then, I’ve been seeing her for full-body massage, cupping, lymphatic drainage, scalp work, and more. Her intuitive touch drops me right into a parasympathetic state. Every treatment is customized to what my body needs.
AKA natural foods heaven. Chocolate, soaps, sparkling water, smoothies, ice cream, pasta—you name it, it’s there.
I’ve been going to this show for as long as I can remember (my family has been in the industry since 1939!). My dad and sister have created the most incredible smoothie brand: LiveMore Superfoods. Well-sourced organic frozen fruit smoothie cups. My code COLOURSLIVING gets you a sweet little discount.
The show gets more overwhelming every year—so many brands now—but I always find the gems. I gravitate toward the OGs: rooted in nature, holistic, simple, mom-and-pop since the early 1900s.
Living in Topanga, Carter and I stay more local these days. Now that Malibu is basically inaccessible, we were thrilled to find a new spot nearby. Yume Sushi Bar is my type of sushi bar. Everything is intentional, fresh, citrusy and bright.
Highlights: The Yuzu Margarita & Crispy Rice with Avocado + Truffle Oil.
BATH / BEAUTY
With the seasonal shift, I’m dry brushing more. It’s invigorating and one of the first things I do each morning. I rotate between this one and the Primally Pure one.
For any ache or tension—this balm is magic. The earthy, floral aroma brings me back to center and calms the mind.
If you’ve smelled it, you already get it. I apply it to my neck each night before bed. It helps activate the body’s relaxation response through the vagus nerve—named for the Latin word vagus meaning “wandering.”
I love a two-in-one, and this organic lip tint has been a favorite since last summer. Bright, nourishing, and easy to apply with the big balm stick. Also, the shades are named after Malibu & the Palisades.
Hands-down the best brow gel I’ve ever used. One application does the trick for the day.
This is the only bug repellent I use now. Plant-based, smells great, and keeps the bites away while moisturizing skin. Code EMILY10 for a discount.
WELL-BEING
• Koala Eco Natural & Non-Toxic Laundry Wash
Carter asked me the other day what I washed our clothes with because it smelled so divine. The combo of lemon and rosemary is so clean and grounding.
Carter and I are now hooked on mouth taping at night. Breathing through your nose only really activates the parasympathetic nervous system. It took some getting used to, but I feel the difference.
Blocking blue light isn’t just important in the evening. These recently upgraded my daytime screen time and have helped immensely with eyestrain. While natural blue light from the sun is beneficial and essential for optimal health, the blue light emitted by screens and artificial sources is quite different—and can disrupt our physiology. Use code EMILYROSE for a discount.
MIND
Yes, I mentioned it last month, but it’s worth repeating. This book is life-changing—one chapter at a time. I read it last year, but now I’m doing it with a Monday morning group led by my friend Brooke, and it’s helping me move through blocks in a whole new way.
• OPEN Meditation + Breathwork
This is a forever favorite. Every month, someone thanks me for sharing it—it’s true nourishment for the mind, body, and soul. Use code COLOURSLIVINGOPEN30 (or click here) for 30 days free.
NOURISHMENT
• Alexis Smart Flower Remedies
No specific one to recommend—it’s personal. But Alexis’s remedies have been a huge support in my journey. These aren’t aromatherapy or essential oils; they’re scentless drops taken internally to help shift emotional states. Rooted in 1930s medicine from Dr. Edward Bach.
• Addictive Wellness Raw Wild Cacao Powder
It’s finally back in stock. I grabbed a fresh bag at Erewhon today. This is my go-to cacao for morning elixirs—mold-free, wild jungle-grown, and fermented using traditional methods to preserve purity.
Saffron is the sunshine spice. It supports mood, PMS, sleep, inflammation, gut health—you name it. Instead of Advil, try Kinder Thoughts. Use code EMILYROSE for a discount.
• Agent Nateur Holi (Mane) Collagen
Still going strong with this one. Holi (mane) is my go-to for skin and bone health. On bag #3.
• Breakfast of the Month
I can’t stop eating this.
1. Warm a spoonful of organic coconut oil in a pan.
2. Heat two COYOTAS cassava tortillas 15 seconds per side.
3. Plate, spread with SunButter, top with sliced bananas + cinnamon.
So good. (I prefer COYOTAS over Siete’s cassava—less breakage and better flavor)
